DESCRIPTION:
This Baluchi rug is hand-knotted by a large group of nomadic tribes between the boarder of eastern Iran (Persia) and Western Pakistan in the city of Baluchistan. The Baluchi tribal people continue the nomadic way of life even today by means of agriculture, raising sheep, and goats along with carpet weaving.
Baluchi rugs are durable with the warp made of wool or a mixture of wool and goat hair, newer Baluchi rugs have a warp made of cotton and pile of wool.Their colours tend to be dark red, navy, black and brown consisting of geometrical with lively patterns. These handmade rugs are collectible examples of fine nomadic art which can enhance any décor.
