DESCRIPTION:
This Ardebil rug s knotted in the province of Azerbadjan in northwestern Persia. The pattern in the carpet has geometrical motifs with influences from Caucasian groups. The carpet is thin, durable and beautiful in a bold, slightly primitive way.
The rugs manufactured in Ardebil are inspired by Caucasian patterns such as Shirvan, Karabagh and Gendje. The later carpets are desirable collector's item. Ardebil rugs are thin but with well done geometrical motifs.
