DESCRIPTION:
This carpet is knotted by Kurdish tribes in north-western Persia. The carpet is firmly knotted and durable with a high pile and beautiful patterns. The patterns often consists of geometric figures in dull colours. The carpets are firmly tied with a high pile and a saturated colour scale. Older Koliae carpets are woven on a warp of wool, while the younger has a cotton warp, both with two wefts between the rows of knots. The workmanship is strong; the carpets are heavy and compact with good durability . Koliae's's are tribal Persian rugs woven by artisan nomadic weavers in Iran/Persia. Bright and lively, they often have hexagonal herati medallion designs. As with all nomadic weaving's their rugs were not woven for commercial use but for their day to day needs. These stunning tribal rugs blend beautifully with tall traditional and modern décors.
