DESCRIPTION:
This rug is Hand-knotted by Armenians in the village of Lilihan, in the Arak district in western Iran. The carpet is generally thick and colourful, dominated by pink. The pattern often consists of curvilinear floral motifs, but also geometric ones occur. The Lilihan rug forms part of the group of Hamadan carpets. These rugs have a velvety surface and are finely woven and durable and with their distinctive colours, and exceptional detail, the long-wearing Lilihan rugs are an extraordinary work of art. Skillfully hand-woven by masters of their craft, these beautiful Persian rugs will stand the test of time by lasting for many years to come.
