DESCRIPTION:
This rug is knotted in the Malayer area in the western part of central Persia. The rug is inspired by Sarough carpets with elegant drawn vase-motifs or medallions with or without corner motifs. Characteristic of this carpet is often very powerful ground colours and a high quality. Antique Jozan and Malayer rugs are very highly prized pieces and are very hard to come by. With their beautiful earthy tones and elegant floral patterns, these rugs are a timeless beauty to own.
