This rug is knotted in the town of Joshaghan in central Iran. The town is known for its famous rug weaving traditions, old style weaving, interesting designs and the fast and limpid colours. On this carpet medallions with rombs are the most common, but also mina khani, gül in henna and weeping willow-motifs occur. The ground colour is often blue, purple  beige or red and brown.
