DESCRIPTION:
This carpet is knotted in the city of Zanjan in northern Iran. The carpet is generally colorful and the wool is of good quality. The patterns in the carpet is often geometrical with a centrally placed diamond medallion stretching from the top to the bottom. Colors are often dark red, brown and cream/beige. Animals and symbols can be see incorporated in the designs which represent the tribal way of life.
